While there is tea there is hope. We're back!

I'm ever so sorry guys, it's been a while hasn't it? We've both been super busy for the past few months, Sophie had her exams to endure and work has put a downer on me lately so I've not felt in the right frame of mind to blog. However, September brings a change to all that so hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more of us.
June, July and August have been jam packed full of trips and memories. I took a week off to visit Soph down in Plymouth where we danced like lunatics. I've celebrated my dads birthday at Windsor, had a 1940's inspired afternoon tea with Amber at Stratford-Upon-Avon, and behaved like a classy lady with Rosie and Maisy in London.

I even celebrated my own birthday last month (I turned the big two one) and seeing as I had such a lovely time, I'm going to dedicate this post to it.
Like everyone else who is remotely sane, I love cake and I love tea so I thought I'd combine the two and host a vintage inspired afternoon/ garden tea party for the big day. Lots of preparation was involved (a whole two days of solid cooking and baking!), drink and obviously dress shopping. I had been searching for months for the one and after many tantrums and dragging everyone round the shops with me, I finally went with this beauty.

It's a white, off the shoulder tea dress from Topshop (was £70, but I got it for £45 in the sale and Sophie's student discount!) It fitted perfectly and I'm not ashamed to say that I felt like a little princess in it. The white feather fascinator was also a bargain buy from Dorothy Perkins, however I can't be exactly how sure it was as my mother bought it me as a gift. (This is why I know it was a bargain.)

Everyone else looked like absolute dolls, and I'm glad everyone went to such an effort! Lots and lots of goodies were involved including my own vanilla, chocolate & ginger cupcakes and cookies and I can tell you now that i've never been so full in my entire life. You could of rolled me to bed and I wouldn't of cared.

That's it for now guys, just a quick post to get back into the swing of things. I hope you have all been well and enjoyed your summers!
Much love

OOTD: spot of leopard

It isn't very often that I truly want to write an outfit post. Why? Well, I don't think any blogger will be ashamed to say how much bloody effort goes into one. Firstly, you have to reaaalllllyyy plan what you're going to wear because, I don't know about you, but I love nothing better than to just shove on my comfies and be done with it.
Secondly, once you've selected your outfit you then have to find a place to shoot it. There is literally no blank walls in my house to photograph against so I have to improvise by taking off all of my coats and scarfs off the back of my door (I have tons, it takes forever) and then balance my camera on makeshift podiums to get the right height. There is also no good source of natural light, it's like living in a cave.
Thirdly, my face always looks a mess, which is why I'm always cutting it out. It is the outfit that counts though, right?

However, it's sunny and quite warm out and i'm in a good mood so I don't mind going through all of the above to show off my outfit for today/ this evening where i'll be going out for a bite to eat with my parents.
(But, i'm not taking the rubbish off my door. Sorry!)

What I love most about this outfit is that it all cost under £30, yay!
Cream collar blouse- Primark
Black peplum sweater- Primark
Light wash skinny jeggings- Urban Outfitters
Leopard print shoes- Primark
Leather bag- Charity
Green leopard earrings & ring- Unknown, gift

I love my knitted peplum so much because it's so easy and versatile to wear and I really think it's an item of clothing that everyone should have in their wardrobe as it gives curves whilst at the same time hiding anything you don't want the world to see. It's also a bonus that I only paid £3 for it in the Primark sale but I know that they also do cotton/ t shirt versions and also a more fancy formal version in lace cream and black.

So, I am hoping you all have a lovely day and rest of the week :)
Enjoy the sun whilst it lasts!

Casual Tuesday- Outfit Of The Day

Hey guys (: I know it's been a while since I did an outfit post but I actually look half okay today so I thought why not!
It's still mightly, mightly cold outside (boo!) so I can't break out my dresses and short sleeves without covering up with masses of cardigans and coats so you'll just have to bear with us whilst it's still chilly.

Sometimes I find it really difficult to look casual, yet still relatively stylish, as most of the time I just feel like a massive tramp. I think the trick is to know how to acessorize, especially if you're just a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl.
The tee trend at the moment seems to be the ones where the words 'GEEK' and 'DORK' and all that silliness, is 'adorned' across the front. I don't know about you, but I really don't like it. I much prefer my little, white, bike t shirt (Topshop, £20) Unfortunately, Topshop don't sell this anymore but here are a pick of my favourite alternatives.

Grey 'Twin Peaks' T Shirt (Topshop £22)/ Green Bird Print T Shirt (River Island £15)/ Black Hand of Fatima T Shirt (New Look (£7.99)

SHOES

My black ankle boots are from New look here (they also come in khaki). They're only avaliable in the wide fit section but that just means they're that little bit more comfortable for your feet! I adore the paisley detail in the cuff and they're a bargain at £19.99 (:

ACCESSORIES

Aquamarine and white make a great pair, which is why i've chosen these accessories to wear with my simple t shirt and jeans. The earrings are from Primark (part of a set of 12 for £2.50) which Sophie reviewed in this post here. The ring is actually from Greece, and if you're planning a trip this year then definitely keep an eye out for stuff like this, it's everywhere and, most of the time, it's quite affordable. If not, have a mooch around your local Primark and River Island as it's a popular colour at the moment.

EVERYTHING ELSE

It's far to cold to be going out in just a t shirt, so don't forget your big, chunky cardigan. Mine is actually Sophie's (which I stole, sorry!) But I adore it so much, it's so warm and I love anything that's oversized so this does just the trick.
My leather bag is years and years old so it's looking a little battered, but it was from Topshop and it was in the sale for £20. Bargain.

Till next time!

Brrr

It's been so cold the past few days, especially with the arrival of all this snow! I'm really not a fan of it, it's for difficult to get places because the buses just stop running (even if it's not bad!), it's wet, and it's especially horrible when it starts to melt and it's just grey sludge. But alas! It will not stop our plans so we must go on.

My outfit today was quite a snug one, which seems to be a running theme with my last few looks.

The knitted rollneck dress is actually a really dark navy, not black, and has horizontal blue glitter stripes running through it. It's so comfortable and lightweight as it's not a heavy knit, but a very thin one. It was from River Island several years ago so I can't remember the price exactly. My cardigan is from a charity shop, orignally from H&M. I really love the collar to this, it's so cosy and it looks really nice with a jacket as it hangs over it beautifully.

My tights are some cheap woolen ones from Primark, which are also very comfortable and for two pairs for £4 I think you should all invest in some.
My tan bag is from Matalan, also from a few years ago and my boots are suede and so lovely and warm! I've had them for literally years and years, so long that the brand has worn off so I don't actually know where they're from!

Snug As A Bug- Hooded Scarfs

I've been a big fan of the hooded scarf craze for a couple of years now, I got both of these above at least two years ago. I got the grey one from Primark for £8.00 but was discontinued after the christmas period but I've seen that recently they've bought them back in! They are pretty much exactly the same design and fit but they only colour that i've seen so far is a super bright orange which is lovely but unfortunately for me, is the exact same colour as my hair. Not a good look! They'll probably bring out new colours within the next few weeks, as the season progresses. My big-buttoned, lightweight grey cardigan is from H&M which I got several years ago!
The second scarf was a gift from my mum two christmasses ago from River Island. I'm unsure of the exact price but I know it was quite pricey, between £40-£70 I think. If you manage to come across one like this then I assure you its a great investment! It's so warm and cosy and if you, like me, suffer from ear ache in the winter from all that cold, then this really does the job to solve it. The outer layer is a really fluffy leopard print faux fur and the inside is like a big knitted jumper that comes in this really cute white and brown fairisle pattern. My cream, chunky cardigan is from a charity shop but was originally from new look.

I've tried to find one like this for you but I can't :(! But worry not, I have found some alternatives.
River Island are currently selling three variations of the hooded scarf, a gold and brown stripe one £28.00 £10.00, a black and grey ribbed stitch one £32.00, and a dark grey flower ears one which has been reduced to £12.00.
If you wanted an animal one, then H! by Henry Holland do this adorable panda one. Complete with ears!
Happy shopping beautifuls.

Winter Shopping

Hello Ladies (:

Here's a new outfit post for you all. OH and by the way, there is no suitable place in my house (i.e no blank walls, no open spaces with natural light) which is why i'm taking photographs in my room, and I promise i'll get rid of all that stuff on my door in future posts because I know it's quite distracting! Right so, new outfit! I wore this out for shopping last friday, pretty effortless but still all snug and nice for winter.

I got the wool shorts from Primark, who had only had them in for a week before they reduced them down to £5 (originally £12!) so I took the chance to snap a pair up before they all sold! They've got a sweet little aztec type pattern on and comes with a brown bow belt.
I've been trying to find you an alternative just in case you don't have access to a Primark or if they've sold out but I can't seem to find anything similiar. Aztec patterns are usually more readily avaliable in the summer seasons!

I'm wearing this beautiful flowered lace blouse over the top of a plan black, long sleeved Primark t shirt which I purchased for a stupidly cheap £2.00.
I got this blouse as a gift for christmas from Sophie, so you'll have to ask her about price! However it's from a brand called Amber Krystal London which you can find in Ark stores and online.

I've also found some lovely alternatives for you just in case you can't find this one (:

My tights are just some cheap boxed black ones from Primark and my shoes were a real bargain from Matalan! They're creeper like, in a sense that they have a platform but are ballet pump rather than the sterotypical creepers.
They also sell them in blue for £6.00 in the sale, and black with leopard in-soles and all over leopard print for £10.00.
Mine are also £10.00 but were shoved on the £6 sale rail so therefore got them for the reduced price!
